It’s not exactly easy for me to come up with a humorous way to segue into this post as is my normal routine for dealing with serious topics. So I guess I’ll just go with the old “damn the torpedos, full speed ahead approach”.
The short version of the story is that on Saturday leaving my office, I was the subject of an attempted mugging by a member of the Indianapolis Choir Boy School of Good Men Who are Only Down on Their Luck. As I was leaving my office, said altar boy came around the corner of my building to the left into the side parking lot, and as I turned to face him noticed the knife in his right hand. The Chaplain’s Assistant demanded that we engage in an abbreviated barter process, wherein I would provide my wallet and car keys in exchange for not getting shanktified, which to him probably seemed like a reasonable exchange. Our student body president never talks about the books he read as a youth. But I’m betting that before he became an accomplished community organizer, he read Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, because he follows those rules more often than not.
Obama loves the media as long as it loves him, and not a New York minute longer. And against those voices in the media who take him on he employs Alinsky’s rules: isolate marginalize, and render the adversary ineffective for starters. Read more…

The saga of when Ben Spies will move to MotoGP has finally been settled with an official announcement that the World Superbike title contender will move to Tech 3 Yamaha in 2010.
With Colin Edwards also agreeing a one-year Tech 3 extension, former double World Superbike champion James Toseland is to swap with Spies and join the factory Yamaha WSBK team, bringing an end to Toseland’s MotoGP career – which began promisingly in 2008, but fell below expectations in 2009.
